CyberTracker: The Newest Link Between Nature and Technology

It's six in the morning and still dark at the Linne Doran pond in Duvall, Washington. Dark, but not quiet. A whooshing sound can be heard close to the water's surface: the tell-tale noise of a low-flying "V" of ducks. Teardrops of ice cling stubbornly to the thin branches of a Himalayan blackberry bush as a nearby winter wren starts its morning song.
As the sun comes up over the trees on the west side of the clearing, Christopher Kuntzsh cranes his neck in the direction of the bird's song, listening for clues. On this 28 degree morning he is bundled in a thick flannel jacket, a black and gray knitted cap and dark gloves. The knotted string hanging from his cap bobs back and forth as he feverishly records his observations on a palm computer device....
